What data we collect
TXP Cookbook does not require sign-in or user accounts. When you submit a recipe, we store the content you provide including recipe text, images, your personal story, contributor name, and contributor type. When you post a comment, like a recipe, or mark one as "I Made This", we store the name you voluntarily enter at that time. No email addresses or account credentials are collected.
How we use your data
Submitted data is used solely to operate the TXP Cookbook platform. Your contributor name (or "TXP Contributor" if you chose anonymity) is displayed alongside your recipe. Comments and made-it entries are attributed to the name you enter at submission time. We do not sell or share your data with third parties outside TXP.
Data retention
Recipe submissions are retained indefinitely to preserve the community cookbook. If you wish to have your recipe or comments removed, please contact your TXP Data Protection Officer or an admin. Anonymous submissions cannot be retroactively attributed.
Allergen information
Allergen information on this platform is user-declared and not independently verified. TXP Cookbook does not guarantee the accuracy of any allergen information. If you have allergies, always check all ingredient labels and consult a healthcare professional.
Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data you have submitted. To exercise a data right, please contact your TXP Data Protection Officer directly. As TXP Cookbook does not use accounts or email, verification of identity for data requests will be handled through your line manager.
🚫 Health information (§20.6)
You must not submit personal medical or health information in your recipe. This includes personal dietary conditions, health diagnoses, allergies framed as medical claims, or nutritional recommendations presented as medical advice. Recipes must not make nutritional or medical claims (e.g. "this cures X" or "medically proven to help with Y"). Where such content is detected, it will be removed by admins without notice. If you have health concerns relating to food, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.
📱 Device-based storage (§20.7)
Your saved favourites are stored only in your browser's localStorage on this device. They are not transmitted to our servers, not associated with your identity, and are not accessible from any other device or browser. Clearing your browser data will remove all saved favourites. This is a deliberate design choice to allow saving recipes without requiring an account.
Cookies & local storage
TXP Cookbook uses browser localStorage (not cookies) to remember: (1) which recipes you have liked on this device, (2) your saved favourite recipes on this device, and (3) admin sessions (which expire automatically after 8 hours). No session cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party advertising cookies are used. Likes and favourites are device-bound and non-transferable.
